Haven't posted in a few days - apologies. Got caught up with a busy work week (bad excuse I know). The past couple of days have gone by fairly quickly.
Main thing that happened was that I saw some pictures that were taken recently by my sister from another mother, and that set me off thinking and asking the dreaded 'what if' question. But oh well, life has to go on I guess.
Got a movie (Hair) from PBJK which I might watch this evening, so maybe a quiet evening in preparing for a run tomorrow in Central Park.
Tomorrow, will be working on de-cluttering the apartment some more. Can't wait to get the results of the exam, so I can throw out some of the books that are the bane of my existence. I dislike studying for exams, and dislike even more having to wait for months to get the result. I mean in this day and age, how hard is it to perform computer based testing? I am sure candidates wouldn't mind paying a little extra, just so they could either sleep easy or get absolutely smashed.
But oh well - it is around the corner. Weather looks decent for the weekend, so hope you all enjoy it, if I don't check in earlier
this journey called life . . .
the world as seen through my lenses; sometimes witty, sometimes serious, often random thoughts but always real. hope you enjoy the journey

sunday evening
What an eventful Sunday!! Woke up and did a 6mile run in the neighbourhood, when the sun was up (not a very good idea). Then came into the city to get some fruits at Stiles to satisfy my smoothie cravings. The only reason I make the journey is that the produce is very reasonably priced and fresher than what I have been able to find around me.
Just got back from swimming with my sister from another mother at MHPC. Swimming was actually fun today, think I have improved a little and there is less splashing and more co-ordination. Maybe I need to invest in a membership to a club with swim facilities. Might do that after the marathon when I have a little more time on my hands :)
About to watch the news and chilling on the sofa drinking a smoothie. Today's choice had carrots, bananas, blackberries, lemons, grape fruit, apples, soy milk and pomegranate juice; seriously people, can it get any healthier than that? If only I can keep it up during the week - a smoothie a day? What do you say?
Catch your later, have a wonderful evening / day (depending on when you read this)

How it all started
I had a very interesting day with friends. Started off with lunch at a Nigerian restaurant in Brooklyn called Buka. This was a first for all of us, so we were looking foward to For those that are interested, the goat pepper soup was on point, and it was nice to try Schweppes Bitter Lemon again. The best thing to pair with good food is amazing company, and neither was in short supply. Got to chat a bit with Miss Gia and she is a genuinely sweet person, good sense of humour and fun to be around.
After lunch, we had a leisurely stroll in the area, and then descended into the depths of the NYC subway system to catch a train to Manhattan. Stopped off at Dave & Busters for some nail biting car racing. Esa Mujer was the winner all round, not quite sure how she did it, but fair play to her. Then we shot some hoops, and I had to represent with the Boss of Bosses, Daffy Doff, but Miss Gia looked like she was planning an upset.
Saw Horrible Bosses and that was an interesting movie, by far the funniest this year. Afterwards we all walked past the crossroads of the world and headed our separate ways. This was one of those evenings you wished wouldn't end, but it was nice.
Chatted later with my sister from another mother, about this and that. The main worry now is trying to figure out if I wake up to run in Central Park, Prospect Park, or just run around the neighborhood; decisions, decisions . . . decisions
But talking about decisions, I must say thank you to Miss Gia - she might not understand how, but she inspired me to start this blog, hehehe. I wonder if she will ever get to read this :)
